Today my scheduled activity for the evening was (at last) paying a visit to spanking new and reputedly extremely large shopping paradise - ViVoCity. Making the pilgrimage with Winston, we found the place to be a classic Singaporean shopping centre, and not much more than that. But like I told him, what exactly can be expected? Anyhow, spending time with an old friend, no matter where, is to me one of the best ways to spend an evening.

And an old, and true, friend Winston really is. I don't often dedicate posts to anyone, but maybe it's time I got started. So here's to this good friend of mine whom I got to know more than five years ago, way back when he was still cute and had that absolutely precious centre parting. Thanks for all the good memories - from all the great conversations we had in Sec 3 and sitting next to each other in Sec 4, to trying to get mud on each other in J1, to our unfortunately only occasional bitching-out sessions in J1 and J2; to staying in touch beyond that and watching fireworks together last year and this, and spending the last two New Year's Eves in hope at the Marina bayfront. Thanks for being there for me in good times and bad over this half-decade, and for all the priceless birthday gifts and sweet cards. But most importantly, thanks for not changing and still being the ebullient, cheerful and ever-so-funny Winston I got to know five years and seemingly an age ago. Truly, it has been my good fortune to have your friendship.

Just promise me to always be the person you are now and never let anything get you down - you're really no fun that way.
