So, the holidays have begun/are about to start. And it's open season on tired commuters for stupid product solicitors, apparently. I've met four in the last two days, a much higher number than previously, and it is getting very irritating.

Basically, there are three kinds: those asking you to take a survey, those asking you to donate to charity and those asking you to purchase a product. Whatever they want, they are all irritating.

Let us start with the survey takers. A few things you guys should know/remember:
- No one likes taking surveys. It wastes time.
- As such, when people ignore you, you DO NOT thrust your clipboard into their faces and attempt to block their path with your body in the vain hope that these actions will somehow make them turn friendly and do what you fucking want.
-Doing one or more of the above will only enrage the tired commuter who has just returned from a frustrating day and desires only a peaceful ride home, and induce within him an overpowering desire to rip the clipboard from your hands and reduce it and its contents to a tattered shambles upon the MRT station floor via vigorous action of the body's lower limbs.

Thank you for your kind attention. Now on to those who ask for money.

How much bloody money do those charity organisations want? We seem to have these drives from the beginning to the end of the year, from big public, televised events to obscure flag days. That's a bit overboard, I believe. Not to mention some of them do not need our money, like, *ahem*, a certain eponymously-named foundation that deals with the body's most important excretory organs, for instance? They have plenty of the stuff, and they can keep denying it, but the fact is they do.

And the government should do more, shouldn't it? It has the most money in the whole of Singapore. Maybe MOE can consider putting its money towards far more worthy causes such as these instead of flinging it into the big, black maw of the Gifted Education Programme? Hmm?

My heart goes out to those cancer patients, but my money stays in my wallet.

Right, and the last group. Merchants hawking their wares, everything from hand lotion to energy drinks to detergent to Ooo-what-the-fuck-is-that-black-bubbling-thing-Oh-it-is-good-for-my-acne?. Only two things to say to you: Don't call me "uncle". And fuck off, I'm not the least bit interested.
