Basket.

I rescued myself from the drudgery of reading fiction yesterday when, armed with Winter Tales 20% off coupons, I went down to Kinokuniya to purchase some good reading, and returned with a bumper harvest of four good, new history books. One tragedy was that I was unable to find the Erik Durschmied book I had only time to read one chapter of the last I went there, but consoled myself by picking up the sequel to The Hinge Factor, plus four other titles I am convinced will entertain me in the days to come.

Finally the day has arrived that I am going to watch Return of the King, and I can't wait for 7.30pm to arrive. Before that, of course, is a nice meeting and dinner with the online acquaintances who will be accompanying me, but that is but a sideshow. ;)

After this though, holiday homework lies untouched, and I must get around to it. The beginning of a new year and a new term is well in sight, and it will not be long before the familiar monotony of a daily routine sets in once more, with only weekends to break the tedium. Well, that's how it has been for over a decade now, and that is how it is going to continue to be for the year to come. Deal with it, then.
