Sheer idiocy 1
Sheer idiocy 2

When something like that is considered a social issue worthy of such lengthy discussion, you know Singapore society in in a terminal topor.

I mean, seriously, what the fuck is there to say? Yes, RGS girl dating neighbourhood school guy. So what? What the hell is the big deal? Actually, nothing. Yet it does teach us something, really: some of the ideas our so-called "best and brightest" hold are, for want of a better phrase, really fucked up.

The issue is nothing, and the original question was innocent. And it would probably have stayed that way, if we hadn't managed to cultivate so many elitist buggers in 40 years of utilitarian education. I mean, seriously, some of them make me ashamed to be a Rafflesian, and I haven't ever been, until now. What complete nonsense about calling on neighbourhood school people to "quit trying to climb the social ladder"? What is the big idea? Wow, look, I am from Singapore's top school, therefore I have a huge penis and all the chicks will flock to me. Ok, yes, that is cool logic.

Singapore's social malaise has never been more clearly demonstrated than in the above links. Saying things like, I quote, "a bunch of neighbourhood and normal stream people crying foul.. don't care much about the guys but normal stream or ranking 50 to 100000 gals, please don't even think of climbing the social ladder by sleeping around with us. Yucks." is most unbecoming. Tell you what, why don't you go fucking tattoo "NO ENTRY: RJC ONLY" on your crotch in big shocking pink letters so that anyone trying to "sleep around" with you gets the idea? Think you fucking cunt is gold-plated and requires paid membership to enter, do you? I hope you get raped in a dark alley by a Malay drug addict with Primary 2 education. That will be sweet justice indeed.

It is disgraceful. And these are supposedly the cream of the crop? Our future leaders? I'll rather migrate than see it so. We have created economic success, but at what cost? A fucking caste system that exists not in reality but in people's minds, which is bad enough. It is severe irony indeed that it seems to be the nieghbourhood school people who are speaking sense rather than the self-touted geniuses.

I mean, seriously, the sheer arrogance is staggering. I have been guilty on isolated occasions in the past of some pretentiousness towards neighbourhood school people, I'll be the first to admit, but I in no way hold the mindset that people from prestigious schools are necessarily superior. Ok, so they can get 9 A1s and 4As, and two S paper distinctions. Ok, so they can get PSC scholarships. Ok, maybe they have larger penii. But in the end, is that all there is to life? How are they as people? Arrogant snobs, and in my eyes, complete and utter failures as a result.

I have more to say about this, but it is getting late, and I shall reserve my further comments for another time.
