Basket.

So, my brother will be back in one week. First time he is returning since December last year, and I admit that it has been rather lonesome in Singapore although much of the time I have free reign of the house without him around.

I remember that last time he came back. One of the best weeks of my life. I had so much fun during that week. It was post-promos, he brought me two of the best books I ever read in my life and we had a great time. Come to think of it, last November/December was so fun. Even IPW was only a minor distraction. I particularly remember the long, late meetings in Boon Lay, me taking minutes and drinking cup after cup of black coffee not to keep awake but for the hell of it (heck, the stuff made me tired) walking back to the bus stop and from the bus stop myself at 10/11+ at night, with the wind blowing and everything quiet and peaceful, coming home and engaging in MSN conversations or Bejwelled late into the night, then getting up the next morning with completely no responsibilities. Those times felt so good. Too bad it couldn't last forever.

I particularly miss strolling back to the the bus stop, and from it. Those lonely night walks are about the only times I have found true solitude. Alone, with the wind on your face and everything quiet save for the occasional cricket/grasshopper/Bangladeshi worker/random idiot who goes white a the sight of some blood( still laugh at that incident)... it was so peaceful and so calming it felt almost like a spiritual experience. And me, an atheist, too. Really gave you time to think and wonder, really gave you the opportunity to collect your thoughts and be mystified.

And that all seems so long ago. Less than a year, actually, but feeling like decades past.
