Basket.

Well, back to work next week after this long layoff. Had to happen eventually, I suppose, so i'm not too despondent over giving up this life of excess I've been leading for over seven weeks now.

The last stitches are out, the bandages off and my finger is facing the world again. It looks exactly like what it is: a shattered remnant put back somewhat roughly together by the best (?) in medical science. And it's shorter than I figured it might be. But I guess it's still usable, after a fashion, although it feels honestly odd when I try to drum my fingers on the table and find it that no longer feels the same. What's new is a feeling of emptiness where the tip used to contact the surface.

Another week is done with and September has arrived. August seemed to go quietly and quickly like a thief in the night. Times passes quicker when one is living the high life, I suppose. Yet another end-of-year begins to beckon, and every single of of those mean a thousand things to plan, do and remember.
